The 80/20 Rule

Regular exercise is a very important part of any weight loss or weight management plan. However, many people don’t realise that exercise only accounts for about 20% of the equation. The other 80% (approximately) is a result of good nutrition.

Exercising so that you can treat yourself or treating yourself because you have exercised are very bad and common habits. You can exercise as hard as you like, but the effort will be wasted if you stop on the way home and ‘just have a little chocolate bar’ or ‘treat yourself with a take away burger’. It is not worth wasting the effort you put into your workout for the very short bout of pleasure you feel when eating these bad foods.

If you are currently performing lots of exercise without kicking your fitness goals, it could possibly be due to your diet. Your exercise needs to be complimented by a balanced, healthy diet in order to be successful.

The message here is to eat healthy and at the right times. More articles will follow on the site to provide more information on how to eat healthy, so stay tuned.
